Shoppers use our guides to decide whether to spend ten minutes on a survey, whether a prize is real, and where to mail a free entry. A wrong address or a wrong deadline can cost someone their entry, so accuracy is the point of this site. This page explains how we work.

Where our facts come from

We use these sources, in this order of trust:

  1. The official rules for a sweepstakes or reward program, read in full from the sponsor’s own document.
  2. The store’s own website, such as its survey page, rewards terms or help pages.
  3. The survey itself, which we take where we can, describing what each screen asks.
  4. Reputable news reports, mainly for scams and official statements.

Other survey guides are never a source. We read them only to find claims that disagree with the official rules, and we correct those claims on our pages. Every guide lists its sources at the bottom.

What we won’t publish

  • A fact we can’t trace to one of the sources above. If a detail isn’t published, such as a code length or a deadline, we say it isn’t published.
  • Invented testimonials, winner stories, user counts or “live” status indicators.
  • Guesses about why a survey site shows an error. We describe what to try instead.
  • Anything that presents this site as the store or as the official survey.

How we check a page before it goes live

  • Addresses, dates, prize values and box numbers are copied character by character from the source.
  • Every link is checked to make sure it goes where its text says.
  • Interactive tools, such as date checkers, are tested across several time zones, including the days when clocks change.
  • A separate fact-check re-opens every source and looks for errors, without relying on our own notes.

Keeping guides current

Sweepstakes rules change, often every month or quarter, and survey addresses move. We re-check a guide when its rules are due to change and whenever a reader reports a problem. The date shown under each guide’s title is when it was last updated.

Corrections

If you find an error, email contact@myreceiptsays.com with the page and, if possible, the source that shows the correct information. We check every report and fix verified errors promptly.

Independence

We aren’t paid by the stores, survey companies or sweepstakes we cover, and none of them reviews our pages before publication. The site is funded by advertising served by Google, and advertisers have no influence on what we write.
