Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

This policy explains what information myreceiptsays.com (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit the site, how it’s used, and the choices you have. If you have a question, email contact@myreceiptsays.com.

The short version

  • We never ask for your receipt, survey code, account details or payment information.
  • The tools on our guides, such as date checkers, run in your browser and send nothing to us.
  • We use Google AdSense to show ads and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Both use cookies.
  • If you email us, we use your message only to deal with it.
  • We don’t sell your personal information for money.

Information we collect

Information you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use it only to read and respond to your message, and to correct our pages where you’ve reported an error.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our web host’s servers record basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time. This is used to run and protect the site.

Google Analytics and Google AdSense also collect information about your visit through cookies and similar technologies, as described below.

What we don’t collect

Our date checkers and similar tools work entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter in them is sent to us or stored by us. We don’t ask for receipts, survey codes or financial details, and we ask you not to send them.

Cookies and advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads on this site.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.
  • You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices.

If you opt out, you’ll still see ads, but they won’t be based on your browsing. Google explains how it uses advertising cookies in How Google uses cookies in advertising.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which guides they read and how they found us. It uses cookies to tell visits apart. We use these statistics to improve the site, not to identify you. Google explains how it uses this information in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can stop Google Analytics from measuring your visits with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Your consent choices

Where the law requires it, including for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before advertising and analytics cookies are used, through the consent message shown when you first visit. You can change your choice at any time through the privacy choices link at the bottom of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may then work differently.

How we share information

We don’t sell your personal information for money. Information collected through cookies is shared with Google as described above. Some US state laws treat sharing information for personalised advertising as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; you can opt out of that use through Google’s Ads Settings or the privacy choices link on our pages. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the site and its visitors from fraud or abuse.

How long we keep information

We keep emails only as long as we need them to deal with your message. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account. Google keeps advertising data under its own policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to opt out of personalised advertising. To make a request, email contact@myreceiptsays.com. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights. If you’re in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Information processed in other countries

Google and our web host may process information in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. They apply their own safeguards to these transfers.

Children

This site is meant for adults and isn’t directed at children under 13. Most sweepstakes we cover are open only to adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we’ll delete it.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the site and the information we hold, but no website or email system is completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page if our practices change, and change the date at the top when we do.
